Spring Edit

Welcome, spring! While we're almost a month into one of my favourite seasons (it contends with Fall), it feels like we're really in the midst of it now. The cherry blossoms have made their debut, the windows are open, there are (finally) leaves on the trees again and my seasonal allergies have made themselves known. I love this time of year. Nothing feels better than emerging out of the winter slumber with a new sense of energy and rejuvenation. I've been feeling this way especially since I entered my second trimester(!) and wow does it feel good to feel good. For me personally, I feel Spring comes with fewer expectations than others (in summer I feel like I always have to be taking advantage of the weather, in fall I'm trying to check off all the autumnal things to do and winter, ie the holidays, speaks for itself). Spring is the slow warm-up to Summer and it feels "spacious" if that makes sense. I embrace the longer days, the fresh air coming into our home, lighter clothing and a little spring cleaning.

Like every season, I like to start off by thinking about how I want to feel, what I want to see, smell, taste, hear and touch. It not only gets me excited for the seasonal change but also allows me to be intentional with how I spend my time and make the most of the season. I then head to Pinterest to start collecting images that reflect this mood and vision. From there, I edit the images down and create a collage for my desktop wallpaper, another version for a blog post (this one specifically) and then I print some off to pin up on my linen pinboard at my desk. I include everything from pictures of recipes, interiors, clothing, produce, flowers and more. I will then also add to my physical board a couple postcards, magazine clippings and other collected finds that suit the season. I thought it would be fun to include below some of the brainstorming that led to this season's moodboard, to give you a sense of what I'm looking forward to this season!
