Weekend in Tofino
We took our first family trip a couple weeks ago to Tofino and it was just what the doctor ordered. I didn’t realize how badly I needed to get away until we got there. The change of scenery was so good for me. Having a baby keeps your radius quite small and it’s important to get a new perspective once in a while!
We were originally booked to go at the beginning of March but we decided to rebook last minute since the weather was looking terrible. (Note: we went last year that same weekend and it was atmospheric river level rain for 3 days straight. Wasn’t doing that again). We got so lucky and had the best weather this time. We stayed at Pacific Sands in one of the Lighthouse Suites. They offer discounts in late winter/early spring so it’s a great time to go. It’s such a special place, with outdoor take-out spots serving up fish tacos and fish ’n’ chips, a magical massage therapy studio to escape to, cozy firepits and of course the stunning Cox Bay on your front door.
We spent our days strolling the beaches, curled up on the couch reading, eating as many fish tacos as we could, popping into Tofino Brewery for a pint of Kelp Stout and just soaking in as much sunshine as possible.
