Mulling Spices Hostess Gift

There's nothing quite like the scent of mulled wine or spiced cider on the stovetop around Christmas time and this simple DIY allows you to gift just that. Fill loose leaf tea filters with whatever (non-ground) spices you like. I chose allspice berries, star anise, cloves and cardamom. Throw in the jar some cinnamon sticks, tie on some dried oranges and you've got yourself a nice little hostess gift or stocking stuffer.

For the spice sachets: Fill each tea filter with a generous pinch of whichever spices you use. Just be sure to use the whole spice, not the ground version.

For the dried oranges: Thinly slice an orange and arrange onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Place in an oven preheated to 200°F. Let dry out for 2-3 hours, flipping the oranges half way through.

For assembly: Fill a jar with however many sachets will fit. Add some cinnamon sticks. Poke holes into the orange slices and string twine through. Tie onto jar! You could also add a little tag saying how you can use them.
